Meituan Upgrades Assurance Services for Unused Travel Orders Due to the Epidemic

Meituan posted on its official Weibo account on Thursday that, in order to help travelers in the next round of epidemic prevention and control, the company has upgraded its assurance services for orders affected by the pandemic to better help in any need of hotel or air ticket change or refund.

Meituan said, in terms of hotels, homestays and tickets, the company will come out with new services targeted at unused orders with either check-in or tour dates before August 31, 2021. If users cannot make their destination, users will be able to call customer service to apply for order cancellation at no charge, particularly in regard to hotels, homestays and other scenic spots.

In regard to air and train tickets, according to the notice issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China on August 3, passengers who have purchased domestic air tickets before midnight on August 4, with flight dates from August 4 to August 31, can refund tickets free of charge from midnight on August 4 until the departure date of the flight.

If passengers have applied for a refund before midnight on August 4, each airline company will provide the relevant services for them following their own company policies. The service regarding the refund and change of train tickets will also be in line with the railway department’s related policies.
