Meizu Launches First 5G Smartphone Meizu 17 Series
Chinese smartphone maker Meizu officially unveiled the new Meizu 17 series. Meizu’s first 5G model, the Meizu 17 series features a minimalistic design and a horizontal rear quad-camera setup.
The Meizu 17 series includes the Meizu 17 Pro and Meizu 17, both equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and X55 dual-mode 5G chip. Among them, the standard Meizu 17 comes in three colors at launch: black, dark green, and white. The price of 8GB + 128GB is 3,699 yuan, and that of 8GB + 256GB is 3,999 yuan. The Meizu 17 Pro comes in a premium ceramic body in white, black, and light green colors. The 8 + 128GB model is priced at 4,299 yuan, and the 12 + 256GB model is priced at 4,699 yuan.
The Meizu 17 series comes with a horizontal quad-camera setup. The standard 17 model features a 64MP Sony IMX686 f/1.8 primary camera with a 12MP f/1.9 portrait camera, a 5MP dedicated f/1.9 macro camera that can take shots as close as 2.5cm, and finally, a 118° 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, while the Pro model features an additional 8MP f/2.4 79mm telephoto camera.
The Meizu 17 and the 17 Pro feature a 4,500mAh battery with 30W Super Charge fast charging technology that promises 56% in half an hour. As for the display, the Meizu 17 series uses a customized Samsung Super AMOLED screen.
Both models will go on sale via online and offline sales channels in China from May 11.
