Meng Wanzhou Posts Birthday Blessing for Her Father Ren Zhengfei, CEO of Huawei
October 25 is the birthday of Huawei’s founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei, and his daughter Meng Wanzhou posted a birthday blessing on Chinese social media WeChat.
The post goes like,
“Father’s love is like a mountain, lofty and stretching. . .
Father’s love is like the sky, far-reaching and wide. . .
Father’s love is like the sea, eternal and deep (roars occasionally though). . . “
Meng also posted a picture of herself against a beautiful autumn backdrop and a letter to Ren Zhengfei, written with affection and love for her father. However, netizens noticed that she still had electric shackles on her left foot.

“Dad, it’s your birthday. Years come and go, you are one year younger now. For the past years, every time we would always gather together to celebrate your birthday. You would always cook yourself, and prepare all the dishes we love. You would always call us desperately starting from 4p.m. in the afternoon, and urge us to go back home as soon as possible. It’s such a pity this year that I couldn’t be with you for your birthday. How I wish I could enjoy the delicious dinner you prepare, listen to your nagging, erase your wrinkles, kiss your smiling face, and accept all your criticism! ” Meng said to Ren Zhengfei in the letter.
Though going through a difficult time of her life, Meng seems to have put on a brave face. On September 23 she arrived at the British Columbia Supreme Court to begin an eight-day hearing after her arrest by Canadian border patrol at the request of the FBI. In an interview on October 15, Ren told the media, “As for what my daughter Meng experienced, we do not want to relate this matter with our country, nor do we want the country to make sacrifices and concessions to save us, because the country always sacrifices the interests of the poor. We believe that we will rely on legal means to solve this problem.”
