Mercedes-Benz and 360 Group Join Forces to Strengthen Car IT Security
Mercedes-Benz and the Chinese cyber-security juggernaut 360 Group announced cooperation to offer customers secure products and secure connected services for drivers.
The German automaker is planning to introduce a Bug Bounty program focusing on security to encourage the cyber-security research community to assist Mercedes-Benz in improving their connected services.
To this end the company is also joining hands with the Sky-Go Team, a car security research division of 360 Group and part of 360 Cyber Security Brain, an advanced system dealing with the intelligent upgrade of cyber security defense.
The Sky-Go Team and Mercedes-Benz researchers have been working on improving the Mercedes-Benz connected vehicle technology. The team is currently attempting to fix 19 possible vulnerabilities within the machine.
Commenting on the news, Zhou Hongyi, Chairman and CEO of 360 Group said,”this research outcome is a significant application of 360 cyber security brain in the field of vehicle security. In the future, we hope to provide the automotive industry with more comprehensive information security expertise and solutions, to ensure the security of connected vehicles in the era of internet of everything and benefit more car manufacturers and customers.”
