Mobike Lite Lands in Shenzhen with 1-Second Unlock Times
Mobike launched Mobike New Lite, its latest model of bicycle, on September 22. After a two-month wait, the new models were finally available in Shenzhen’s Futian District, the company announced. The other districts will follow in the coming weeks.
Mobike said the new generation has redesigned every spare part and minimized the weight to ensure safety and durability. The bike is 1.5 times stronger than the EU standard and weighs 15.5 kilograms, making it the lightest shared bikes on the market.

The new bike redesigns the classic Mobike five-hub wheels and utilizes a new generation of magnesium aluminum alloy materials that weigh less and better absorb shock. Mobike also released a new generation of smart locks, enabling bikes to unlock within one second and at a better success rate.
The New Lite also uses a new low-resistance solid tire, which was researched and developed by Mobike and Dow Chemical. The tire reduces road surface resistance by 27 percent.
The bikes also include an embedded chain system, which saves effort when riding and improves reliability, durability and maintainability with less chance of dropping bike chains.
