NBA Players Including Allen Iverson to Hold Kuaishou Livestreams

During this season’s ongoing National Basketball Association Finals, Kuaishou, a Chinese short video platform and strategic partner of the NBA, has laid out a diverse content matrix for its users.

Since June 8, Kuaishou has been launching several livestreaming events with the theme of “Youth Time Machine.” During the events, NBA players including Allen Iverson, Nick Young, Quentin Richardson, Scottie Barnes and others hold livestreams exclusively on Kuaishou. They not only talk about past games, but are also launching various basketball challenges to interact with fans.

At the same time, Allen Iverson and Nick Young also opened personal accounts on Kuaishou, following in the steps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Stephon Marbury.

Iverson is regarded as one of the most influential scorers in NBA history. Iverson was an 11-time NBA All-Star, won the All-Star game MVP award in 2001 and 2005, and was declared the MVP in 2001. In 2016, Iverson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. At 21:00 on June 14, he will make his first Chinese livestream show on Kuaishou.

Nick Young was a key part of the Clippers’ comeback victory against the Memphis Grizzlies in game one of the first round of the 2012 playoffs, making three three-pointers in under a minute. At 22:00 on June 12, he will have online interactions with fans in China through his livestreaming channel on Kuaishou.

In October 2021, Kuaishou and NBA China announced a strategic cooperation. Kuaishou became the Official NBA China Short Video Platform and the first Video Content Creation Community of NBA China. At present, the NBA and each of its teams have opened accounts on Kuaishou. Together, Kuaishou and the NBA carry out in-depth cooperation involving content, brand commercialization, and live broadcast e-commerce, focusing on content of NBA events and the Kuaishou sports ecology. From January to April of this year, NBA-related videos on Kuaishou have been played over 30 billion times.
