New iPhone and Android Phones Coming out in April 2020
New phones are coming out one after another in April, and for most brands, these are their first flagships in 2020. Here’s a look at the most-anticipated android phones as well as a new iPhone.
New iPhone SE

Apple has officially announced its new iPhone SE, a budget iPhone starting at $399 (3299 RMB in China) for the 64GB version. The second-generation iPhone SE has the same shape and overall look as the iPhone 8. It boasts a 4.7-inch screen, large bezels on the top and bottom, and a home button with Touch ID, while also having more modern specs. The most affordable iPhone features the A13 bionic chip, the fastest in a smartphone, as well as the best single-camera system in an iPhone. On April 15, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced the launch of the Honor 30 series, its newest lineup of premium android smartphones. Three models have officially been released, the Honor 30, Honor 30 Pro, and Honor 30 Pro+. They share many similar features with the Huawei’s new P40 series.
The Honor 30 sports a 6.53-inch, 1080p resolution, OLED screen while the Honor 30 Pro and the Honor 30 Pro + both have a 6.57-inch curved screen, officially known as the “super curved waterfall screen.” The Honor 30 Pro+ also has a 90Hz refresh rate allowing for smoother interaction with the phone. The 30 Pro and 30 Pro + are also IP54 certified, providing a small amount of water resistance. If you want a water-resistant smartphone, you should consider this one.
The main highlight of the Honor 30 series is its camera. The 30 Pro has a triple-lens rear camera with an impressive-sounding assortment of specs. It packs a 50MP f/1.9 main sensor, an 8MP f/3.4 periscope lense (offering 5x optical zoom), and a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lense. According to DXOMARK, the Honor 30 Pro + camera gets an overall score of 125 points, ranking second, only behind the Huawei P40 Pro’s 128 points.

OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro

OnePlus finally released its two new 5G flagship phones the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro on April 14, 2020. In truth, the OnePlus 8 is a minor update to the OnePlus 7T that came out in 2019, while the OnePlus 8 Pro is the company’s most premium smartphone to-date.

Huawei P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro Plus

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Huawei had to introduce and launch its latest flagship series through online broadcasts on 26 March (the global launch), and April 8 ( China launch). The new flagship lineup consist of three phones, including the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, and the P40 Pro Plus. The Huawei P40 series has won a TIPA award for best photo smartphone of 2020. If you want to buy a phone that can shoot stunning photos and videos, this is undoubtedly a good choice.
The standard Huawei P40 is on the smaller side, with a flat 6.1-inch OLED display and 60Hz refresh rate, whereas the P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ both pack curved 6.58-inch OLED displays with a 90Hz refresh rate, not a 120Hz panel as it was expected after the release of the Oppo Find X2. The three phones all run on a Kirin 990 5G chip. The P40 packs a triple-camera setup, 3,800mAh of battery power, meanwhile, the P40 Pro and Pro + have a 4,200mAh battery, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. On camera capabilities, the P40 series uses the largest smartphone sensor in the industry – the 50MP 1/1.28-inch unit with omnidirectional phase-detect autofocus.
