As see from Luo Yonghao’s public replies to netizens’ inquiries on April 29th, he claimed that this new product will have a better operating system than the iOS or Windows, and the starting price will be higher than 3000 yuan ($474).
There has been no clear images of this so-called revolutionary product to date. Many rumored images on the Internet have been formally denied by Luo Yonghao. Luo further claims that the new product would reach new heights in its design as well as its performance.
If everything goes according to plan, this new phone will become the most advanced handset ever produced by Smartisan Technology. It will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, rear dual cameras, and the RAM will start at 4GB. Whether or not it would support the in-screen fingerprint recognition is still unclear.
As for its photo-taking capabilities, Luo states in confidence that the new product will lead in the smartphone industry.
As one of the most distinctive brands of Android phones, Smartisan’s operating system has been long praised by its users. Several functions, in particular the “Big Bang “ and “One Step”, are often taken as exemplary models by its competitors.
Luo claims that this time, the new product will put the iOS and Windows systems to shame. Due to the inherent limitations of the Android system, however, no smartphone makers have dared to make such a claim yet. Meanwhile, the Windows system which is a PC leader, being defeated by a mobile phone operating system? Who knows what kind of tricks Luo is pulling this time.
As for the frequent friendly or argumentative interactions between Luo and the netizens, some think that Luo is becoming more arrogant than even Steve Jobs when he was alive. As a response, Luo says that Jobs was far more self-important, as Jobs once visited a competitor’s office just to show his middle finger, whereas he just pokes fun most of the time.
In addition, Luo revealed that the price of this phone will be between 3,000 to 15,000 yuan ($474 – $2,368). This would break the record for all previously released Smartisan phones in terms of price.
As the person in charge of a mobile phone company, Luo Yonghao’s behaviors seem to be inappropriate at times. However, perhaps this straightforwardness is exactly why he is liked by so many. Hopefully, in addition to boasting, Luo Yonghao will truly produce a revolutionary product up to everyone’s expectations.
