Shortly after the official release of Xiaomi‘s 12S smartphone series, news about other new Xiaomi models began to emerge. On July 11, Chinese blogger “Digital Chat Station” broke the news that a model code-named m16 is progressing faster than expected, and other models including the l18, l12, l9s, m2, and m3 will be released in the second half of this year.
Regarding these smartphone code-names, some web users have speculated that the m16 refers to the Redmi Note series, the l18 should be Mix Fold 2, the l12 is Redmi K series, the l9s is Xiaomi Civi series, the m2 is Xiaomi 13 Pro and the m3 is Xiaomi 13.
The leaker previously indicated that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 foldable smartphone will be equipped with a 50MP large sensor. It will also support Leica imaging and Dolby Vision HDR video filming.
At the same time, the leaker unveiled a schematic picture of the Mix Fold 2. The picture shows that the model will adopt an inward folding design, and the external screen has a notch.
According to xiaomiui.net, Xiaomi‘s Mix Fold 2 smartphone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, with 2.5 K LTPO 120Hz high refresh rate screens, and better crease control.
The Xiaomi 13 series will only adopt a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and the standard-version Xiaomi 13 will adopt a screen design with four frames featuring equal width, which will be released in November at the earliest.
Regarding the new Redmi K smartphone series, they are expected to offer Qualcomm 8 Gen 2 and MediaTek dual flagship platforms, and the high-end version has a 2K screen. As for the Redmi Note and Xiaomi Civi series, there is not much relevant news at present.
