Newest Flagship Device Carrying Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Could Be Released in July
On May 20, Qualcomm officially released the latest Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 mobile platform. A Chinese digital blogger said on May 27 that the first batch of smartphones equipped with this platform will be released in July.
Tipster “Digital Chat Station” said the new flagship of Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 is scheduled to start mass production in early June and will be delivered in July. The blogger did not unveil which smartphone it would be, but previous reports suggest it could be a product by Motorola. Motorola announced to release a new Snapdragon 8 + flagship smartphone in July with a model that adopted a 200-megapixel sensor. It is likely to be the foldable smartphone Razr3.
The core architecture of the new generation of the Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 mobile platform is the same as that of the Snapdragon 8. It features a super-core Cortex-X2, large-core A710, and the small-core A510. The Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 increases the highest main frequency of the CPU to 3.2 GHz, thus raising CPU performance by 10%, and GPU performance by 10%.
