NIO Quietly Lays Off Employees, Involving Multiple Departments Including UR Fellow
Last week, NIO made various degrees of layoffs and adjustments to departments such as UR Fellow (after-sales customer service), PT Energy Department, NIO House operations, after-sales stores, and terminal sales teams, providing compensation and reassignment plans for the laid-off employees.
The focus of this layoff plan is not only on the sales team but also targets the internal service sector that has always been highly valued. It involves departments such as UR Fellow, NIO House, after-sales stores, and other after-sales service departments.
Several informed employees indicated that the layoff percentage should be around 10%, with some regional differences. The total number of employees in the UR Fellow department in Shanghai is about 80 people. In this round of optimization layoffs, 7 to 8 people were let go at a rate of around 10%. In contrast, the layoff rate for the UR Fellow team in Shenzhen reached 50%, with some laid-off employees who have already joined Xiaomi‘s car user service development since leaving.
NIO employees stated that the layoff process was very rapid this time. Some employees who accepted n+1 compensation packages completed handovers within just 20 minutes from notification.
