NIO’s Qin Lihong: EC6 Model on September 15th, NIO Phone on September 21st
September 5th, the second “NIO Business Resource Partnership Conference” was held on September 4th at the InterContinental Hotel in Hefei, located on the banks of Chaohu Lake.
NIO invited more than 500 business partners this time and unveiled some plans about Come To Future Tech. NIO‘s co-founder and president, Qin Lihong, also discussed and exchanged ideas on the development and future topics of China’s new energy vehicle industry.
Qin Lihong stated that NIO plans to release the new EC6 model on September 15th and deliver it soon. In addition, NIO also plans to launch the highly anticipated mobile product, NIO Phone, on September 21st this year. It is reported that Xi’an NIO Day is tentatively scheduled for December 23rd.
At the NIO Day 2022 event held in December last year, William Li, founder, chairman, and CEO of NIO, stated that NIO smartphones are already under development and they plan to release a new model every year, just like Apple.

During the Q2 2023 earnings conference call, William Li stated that “the launch of smartphones will help increase the competitiveness of our vehicles. Currently, we plan to deliver smartphone products in late September.” It is worth mentioning that there will be functional integration between NIO‘s smartphones and car cabins.
On July 10th of this year, a mobile phone with the model number N2301 passed the network access review by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The applicant is NIO Mobile Technology Co., Ltd. As of the time of writing, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has not yet released photos or detailed specifications for this device.
Prior to this, the NIO smartphone had already obtained radio approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This model will support 2G (GSM), China Unicom 3G (WCDMA), CDMA, China Mobile + China Unicom 4G (TD-LTE / LTE FDD), as well as 5G network standards. It also supports UWB ultra-wideband technology, which means that the NIO smartphone is expected to be used as a digital key for NIO cars or form short-range connections with other smart devices.
