Nothing Unveils “Ear (stick)” Wireless Earbuds for $99, With Twist-Open Case

London-based consumer tech startup Nothing unveiled its newest wireless headphones on October 26, dubbed the “Ear (stick).” Featuring up to 29 hours of playtime, a 12.6 mm custom driver, and a comfortable half-in ear design, these earphones purportedly deliver authentic sounds with a lightweight feel, for the price of $99.

“As we’re about to cross one million products sold worldwide, I can’t wait for people to get their hands on our third product, Ear (stick). It balances comfort while delivering our most advanced sound experience to date. The case is inspired by lipstick silhouettes and features a unique, yet functional, twist opening,” said Carl Pei, CEO and Co-founder of Nothing.

Nothing’s Ear (Stick) doesn’t use active noise cancellation (ANC) but has Clear Voice Technology. Three high definition mics work together with the firm’s algorithms to filter out louder background noises, amplifying user’s voice for wind-proof and crowd-proof calls. Controls are located on each earbud, and users can press on the earbud stem to play, pause, skip tracks, activate voice assistance and change volume.

The new product also uses Bass Lock Technology, smartly detecting how much bass is lost while wearing. The new earphones are IP54 waterproof and dustproof, can play music for 7 hours on a single charge, can be extended to 29 hours with the charging case, and support quick pairing with Android devices. Ergonomically shaped and tested on over 100 people, Nothing Ear (stick) feels weightless at just 4.4g per earbud, for effortless all-day wear.

Ear (stick) supports customized gesture controls and EQ settings like low, mid, and high frequency levels via Quick Settings when connected with Nothing Phone (1). For all other Android and iOS device users, they can download the new Nothing X app to realize all features.
