A new AI-powered research platform, NovaInspire: Scientist-Centered AI Open Platform, is set to officially launch on July 26 at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2025 in Shanghai. Co-developed by the Shanghai Institute for Science Intelligence, AI startup Infinite Lightyear, and prestigious Fudan University, NovaInspire aims to usher in an era dubbed “Science Intelligence 2.0.”
NovaInspire is positioned as a comprehensive AI infrastructure designed specifically to empower scientists throughout their research workflows, from hypothesis formulation to experimental validation. Its key features include automated scientific reasoning, a vast repository of open-source AI models, accelerated computing resources, integrated digital and real-world experimentation, secure scientific datasets, and an interactive multi-disciplinary research community.
According to the platform’s creators, NovaInspire is uniquely “scientist-centered,” allowing researchers to focus purely on science rather than the complexities of AI deployment. Its ease of use and open, collaborative approach aim to lower entry barriers, helping more scientists leverage powerful AI tools.
The three organizations behind NovaInspire each bring strong expertise. The Shanghai Institute for Science Intelligence has rapidly become a leading hub for AI-driven scientific research, Infinite Lightyear specializes in developing trustworthy, domain-specific AI models, and Fudan University contributes top academic talent and advanced computing infrastructure.
The strategic timing of NovaInspire’s launch at WAIC underscores its global ambitions. WAIC 2025 is set to host over 1,200 leading AI experts from around the world, making it an ideal stage for introducing this groundbreaking platform.
