The Nubia V18 has a Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, 6-inch 18:9 full screen with 1080P resolution, and a 4000 mAh battery. The front camera is 8 megapixels and the rear camera is 13 megapixels. The V18 runs on the Nubia 5.1 system and is priced at 1,299 yuan ($205).
The Nubia V18 design adopts an all-metal unibody, and comes in four color editions, black, red, white and gold. It features a special button on the left side which activates the Nubia Voice function, allowing users to send voice messages in WeChat. This function is similar to the Bixby button on Samsung’s high-end mobile phones.
The rear camera looks like a dual-camera, but in fact, the phone only has a single rear-mounted camera. It also combined the flash and camera together to make the back more minimalist.
The V18 has great photography performance and supports AI beautification. The rear camera enables the NeoVision 7.0 camera system. It also supports long exposure and other functions.
At the conference, Nubia stated that the V18 rivals the Redmi 5 Plus, the Meizu S6 and the Honor 7C. From its price and technical specifications, the V18 has a certain degree of competitiveness. However, compared with Redmi, Meizu and Honor, Nubia is a “niche brand” with relatively lower brand awareness.
