OnePlus 10 Pro Released, Prices Starting from $737

On Tuesday, Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus held a press conference to officially launch this year’s first flagship device: OnePlus 10 Pro.

In terms of design, the front of the phone will sport the Gorillla Glass Victus display while the rearside of the phones will have Gorilla Glass and an aluminum frame for better protection from scratches and falls.

In addition to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, the OnePlus 10 Pro has up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. As for battery power, the new devices are shipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 80W fast wired charging.

For games, the new OnePlus flagship also comes preloaded with the HyperBoost full-link technology. With this technology bundled with the phone, the phone software is able to avoid sharp drops in frame rates thanks to the improved frame stabilization technology. Further, with O-Sync overclocking capabilities and a low latency chip, the touch response has also been vastly improved. Finally, with graphics heterogeneous technology, power consumption caused by gaming has been substantially reduced.

The camera for the OnePlus 10 Prowas once again developed jointly with Hasselblad. As the second generation of OnePlus phones to have Hasselblad-developedcameras, the OnePlus 10 Pro’s photo capabilities have been refined in a handful of ways. Users can manually adjust ISO, white balance, shutter speed and other parameters, while in terms of photo stylizations, the new devices host three tones of portrait, scenery and fairy tale produced by Hasselblad.

The main sensor is a 48MP Sony IMX89 with 1.12μm pixels, while the 50MP Samsung JN1 sits behind the 150-degree lens of the ultrawide shooter. The third camera is an 8MP telephoto unit with 3.3x optical zoom. It also supports up to 8K video recording at 24fps.

The 10 Pro comes with a 6.7″ LTPO 2.0 AMOLED screen at a 1440p resolution and the panel supports an adaptive refresh rate anywhere from 1Hz to 120Hz. Prices start from 4,699 yuan ($737) for the base 8GB/128GB version. The top 12GB/256GB model retails for 5299 yuan. The first flash sale is scheduled for January 13.

OnePlus announced that the 10 Pro will become the designated smartphone for the Game for Peace Professional League in 2022 and League of Legends Mobile Game Professional League in 2022.

In addition, OnePlus released their first active noise reduction headset, the OnePlus Buds Pro Mithril Edition, with a new color scheme, which went on sale at 4 pm on Tuesday. The headphones retail for 699 yuan.
