OnePlus 11 5G Smartphone and Buds Pro 2 Headphones to Debut in India Feb 7
Pete Lau, CEO of Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus, announced on December 19 that a launch event for new flagship products will be held in New Delhi, India on February 7, 2023. At that time, the company will release the OnePlus 11 5G smartphone, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 wireless headphones and other new products.
The camera module of the new phone features a new design. According to previously leaked information, it includes a circular ceramic module, accommodating three cameras and an LED flash light, as well as a metal frame and a curved display in front. The device also supports Hasselblad imaging.
Louis Li, the president of OnePlus China, posted on social media in a bid to generate public interest in the new phone. He revealed that “as the exclusive partner of the future performance technology of the movie The Wandering Earth 2, the design inspiration of OnePlus 11 also comes from the universe. We name it ‘Black Hole Inspiration Aesthetics’ design.” In addition, it showed that his post was “sent from a OnePlus 11 Earth Engine Edition,” suggesting that it will launch a special edition of the phone co-branded with the Chinese sci-fi movie.

Li also described the design details of the new smartphone model, writing, “The junction between the camera and the frame of the phone is named ‘a K-shaped light effect,’ which is like the ‘horizon light’ on the edge of a ‘black hole’ in science fiction works. As long as the phone is tilted, a light can be seen moving on the frame, just like the light really flows into the ‘black hole’.”
As for other design details, Pete Lau said that one iconic feature that is a favorite among OnePlus fans, the “Alert Slider,” will return. This physical slider button provides a simple way to switch between mute, vibration and alarm modes.
The OnePlus 11 5G smartphone is expected to be available in Emerald Green and Volcanic Black color options. Equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, it has a 5000mAh battery and supports 100W fast charging.
As for the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 headphones, Lau said they will provide “an audio experience with full stereo quality and crystal clarity.” In addition to the new smartphone and headphones, the February launch event in India will see the unveiling of various other new products.
During a special live broadcast marking the firm’s ninth anniversary on December 17, Pete Lau announced a brand-new undertaking – the “OPPO/OnePlus dual-brand strategy.” OPPO will also invest 10 billion yuan ($1.43 billion) for the OnePlus brand alone over the next three years. In basic R&D, supply chain and sales channels, OnePlus and OPPO will share resources and capital investment. The leading technologies of the OPPO Research Institute and R&D Department, especially the cutting-edge technologies in the field of performance, will be tilted towards OnePlus.
