OnePlus’ First Foldable Phone May Be Launched in August

On May 4th, it was announced that OnePlus will release its first foldable phone later this year. The latest news indicates that this phone will be launched in August.

The news comes from an informant named @Max Jambor, who did not disclose any other information about the device.

Considering the close relationship between OPPO and OnePlus, it is highly likely that this foldable phone from OnePlus will be based on the OPPO Find N2 and Find N2 Flip.

The specific name and specifications of the device are still unknown, but there are rumors that the company may be developing two different devices.

One is a horizontally folding phone similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, and the other is a flip-style folding phone similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 4.

OnePlus has already applied for trademarks in China for these two types of devices: OnePlus V Fold and OnePlus V Flip.

Pete Lau, the chief executive officer of OnePlus, has stated that the company’s first foldable screen phone will have a “signature OnePlus fast and smooth experience” and will not compromise on flagship phone industrial design, mechanical technology, or other aspects due to its folding form.

It is reported that the company also plans to build a smart ecosystem in the next three to five years, achieving seamless connection between devices.
