Aside from its flagship smartphones, OnePlus also launched the company’s first flagship smart TV—the OnePlus TV in New Delhi. With its launch, OnePlus is taking its first step into the IoT industry and aiming to enrich the digital experience of consumers across the globe by challenging the incumbents in both the smartphone and IoT sectors.
“OnePlus always strives to deliver a ‘fast and smooth’ experience brought forth by the best technology possible to its users,” said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus. “By bringing our industry-leading 90Hz Fluid AMOLED to the 7T as well, we are elevating the premium smartphone experience to a new level with a fully upgraded device defined by flagship excellence.”
The OnePlus TV is currently only available in India and will be released across the globe in 2020.
OnePlus 7T
The new OnePlus 7T features a bold new approach to housing a triple-camera setup within a well-polished circular ring module, striking a daunting resemblance to a DSLR lens sitting atop the elongated phone body.
Featured in Frosted Silver and Glacier Blue, the OnePlus 7T also comes with the company’s signature 90 Hz Fluid AMOLED display for a smoother and more immersive experience. The TÜV Rheinland “Eye Comfort” certification also makes the display safer and more comfortable to view at night for some bedtime reading.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 7T is powered by the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon™ 855 Plus mobile platform with UFS 3.0 storage, giving the phone the ability to multi-task better and transfer files faster. OnePlus 7T also boasts a set of dual stereo speakers featuring Dolby Atmos® to deliver a crisper and louder sound stage for users.
The OnePlus 7T comes with the company’s latest Warp Charge 30T, which OnePlus claims can fill up the phone 18% quicker than Warp Charge 30 and simultaneously keep the phone body cool and charging speed constant even while a graphically intensive game is running.
In the camera department, OnePlus 7T also comes with a triple camera setup featuring the 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 as the primary sensor, a 2x optical zoom lens and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens with an expansive 117-degree field of view. The new Macro Mode featured on the OnePlus 7T enables users to take pictures way up close without sacrificing image clarity.
The OnePlus 7T begins at a price of $599 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration.
OnePlus TV
OnePlus’s first smart TV boasts a minimalist design and a slim profile with a nearly bezel-less screen and a moving sound bar for audio projection.
The TV’s 55-inch 4K QLED display comes with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, providing ultra-high image quality optimized on a scene-by-scene (and even frame-by-frame) basis.
Nestled within the OnePlus TV is a powerful 50W 8-speaker setup to deliver a dynamic and three-dimensional sound stage. Powered by Dolby Atmos for a cinematic surround sound, the TV boasts 4 full-range front-facing speakers, 2 front-facing tweeters for the highs and 2 rear sub-woofers for the bass.
The OnePlus TV is powered by Android TV for a seamless transition from the company’s flagship devices to the big screen. The Chinese company also cooperated with Google and Amazon to bring the American technology giants’ respective smart assistants, Google Assistant and Alexa, onto the OnePlus TV.
OnePlus’ smart TV is retailing at 69,900 Indian Rupee (~$985).
