Online Collaboration Platform Fabrie Secures Pre-A+ Round of Financing

Fabrie, an online collaboration tool for the global design market, has recently completed a pre-A+ round of financing, led jointly by CDH Investments and Sequoia China Seed Fund, followed by Volcanics Venture and BAI Capital, 36Kr reported on December 15.

Fabrie, which offers a combination of online whiteboards and multi-dimensional tables, was established in 2021. It is committed to helping more than 100 million designers from various sub-sectors and their collaborators to better solve diversified needs in a borderless space.

Since Fabrie was officially launched this year, its users have grown rapidly, maintaining average monthly growth of over 30% in the past three months, among which the top 10% of daily active users spend an average of five to seven hours a day. Fabrie will launch a paid version early next year.

Fabrie launched a global version shortly after the desktop beta. At the same time, based on the consideration of Chinese users’ office needs, it also just launched the beta version of mini program on WeChat.

“Borderless online whiteboards can better solve the problems of physical whiteboards or desktop limitations,” said Dabo, the founder of Fabrie. Dabo got a bachelor’s degree from Central Saint Martins, majoring in product design, and a master’s degree from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London in innovative design and computer graphics. He has been engaged in design work in London and Shanghai for many years.

Fabrie serves design management with the ability of a lightweight database. In terms of product functions, the firm achieves the intuition of ignoring file formats while realizing cloud sharing, and can directly render design files in professional formats, thus achieving real-time and asynchronous information sharing.

In addition, compared with other online whiteboard tools, Fabrie eliminates the optional generality function, making the product more targeted. For example, details such as shortcut key design and graphic scaling interaction logic, are adapted according to the usage habits cultivated by designers when using traditional design software. Fabrie has encouraged deep users to share their case templates, and will form a designer community around templates in the future.

Fabrie also integrates various AI functions into the design workflow. At present, Fabrie AI has launched the function of generating pictures from text, which has been widely used in moodboard, concept maps, illustrations and posters. In the future, Fabrie AI will launch more AI plug-ins or functions, which will improve designers’ work efficiency by combining AI capabilities with conventional whiteboard and table editing capabilities.
