OPPO Announces the Release of R17 Series, Equipped with Snapdragon 670
On the afternoon of August 13, OPPO officially announced the release of its new R17 series smartphone and unveiled some of its features.

The OPPO R17 will adopt the Snapdragon 670 mobile platform, which is a medium-range processor newly released by Qualcomm. According to the official website of Qualcomm, its multi-core Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence Engine offers twice the performance of the Snapdragon 660 mobile platform.
The platform uses a Kryo 360 CPU and a Qualcomm Adreno 615 GPU. The new CPU can achieve a 15% performance optimization compared to the previous generation with a clock speed of up to 2.0 GHz.
The phone uses a 6.4-inch waterdrop screen (the notch is designed like a water drop), equipped with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6, and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5%. The maximum specification option are 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It has a 25 MP front-facing AI-beautifying camera and rear-facing AI smart dual-lens cameras. Its battery capacity is 3500 mAh and supports VOOC fast charging. The phone operates on the ColorOS 5.2 system.
It is also worth mentioning that the OPPO R17 is equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner, which supports instant fingerprint unlocking.
The phone will be available for preorders starting from August 18.
