OPPO Joined The 5G Battle With Reno Series, First 5G Smartphone
As OPPO held the European launch of its new Reno series in Zurich on April 24, Reno 5G will make its commercial debut in Switzerland next month.
“The Reno series will serve as the catalyst for the future of OPPO’s smartphone development, and also as an integral part of our global growth strategy for the OPPO brand in the era of intelligent connectivity. OPPO’s 2019 expansion in Europe coincides with this new era of innovation that goes beyond connectivity. We are fortunate to have such a strong ecosystem of partners throughout the region like Qualcomm, Swisscom, Ericsson, EE, Orange and Telefonica as we bring users exceptional new connected experiences through cutting-edge OPPO technology and design,” said Vincent Huang, President of OPPO Europe.
For the company, the launch of Reno 5G in Switzerland is a major milestone for the OPPO 5G Landing Project, an initiative to accelerate the commercial adoption of 5G products and services worldwide together with leading network operators.
Unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2019, the 5G Landing Project was showcased on April 10th in Zurich where Reno 5G reached a download speed of 1.86Gbit/s via the Swisscom network.
“We are on the verge of a new era of intelligent connectivity where we will see unprecedented transformations to how we interact with the world around us. OPPO has long been committed to taking the lead in this new era and to driving revolutionary 5G experiences for consumers. It is our ambition to make 5G more tangible and relevant for our users – and Reno 5G is OPPO’s first answer to the 5G era,” said Neil Yang, 5G Expert at OPPO 5G Standards Research Center.
