OPPO Unveils Find X8 Series and ColorOS 15 at Global Launch in Indonesia

On November 21, OPPO hosted its global launch event in Bali, Indonesia, unveiling its latest flagship smartphones, the OPPO Find X8 and Find X8 Pro. The event also marked the debut of OPPO’s newest operating system, ColorOS 15.

The Find X8 series is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor, delivering high-speed performance and energy efficiency. Both models feature cutting-edge display technology, with peak local brightness reaching an impressive 4,500 nits. The Find X8 is equipped with a 6.59-inch AMOLED flat screen with ultra-thin 1.45mm bezels, while the Find X8 Pro boasts a larger 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a micro-curved design and symmetrical bezels. Both displays support a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage.

OPPO has once again collaborated with Hasselblad to enhance the photography experience. The Find X8 series introduces a dedicated camera shortcut button on the right side of the Pro model, allowing users to quickly access the camera by double-tapping. Additionally, the Pro model enables easy zoom adjustments during horizontal shooting.

The Find X8 features a triple-camera setup, with three 50MP rear cameras comprising a main sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a periscope telephoto lens supporting 3x optical zoom. The Find X8 Pro takes it a step further with four 50MP rear cameras, including a second periscope telephoto lens capable of 6x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom.

Hasselblad Portrait Mode has been upgraded with three new native film-style filters—Soft, Hazy, and Dreamlike—delivering artistic and atmospheric portrait photography. The series also includes four advanced AI photo editing features: AI Ultra-Clear Pixels, AI Removal, AI Blur Repair, and AI De-Reflection, providing users with sophisticated tools to refine their photos.

Both models are equipped with OPPO’s Glacier Battery technology for extended usage. The standard Find X8 houses a 5,630mAh battery, while the Pro offers a larger 5,910mAh capacity. Both devices support 80W wired SuperVOOC charging and 50W wireless charging. Additionally, the series boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Pricing for the Find X8 (12GB + 256GB) starts at approximately $880, while the 16GB + 512GB variant is priced at around $1,000. The Find X8 Pro (16GB + 512GB) is available for about $1,250. Sales will commence on November 23.

AI features are a major highlight of this release. OPPO’s Overseas CMO Elvis Zhou told Pandaily that OPPO’s global AI strategy includes two key aspects. First, self-developed features within ColorOS, such as system-level AI functions and imaging enhancements, are adapted for international markets if they perform well. Second, OPPO integrates capabilities from Android and third-party partners like Microsoft. This combination of in-house innovation and strategic partnerships underpins OPPO’s global operations.

The launch also underscores OPPO’s renewed focus on overseas markets. OPPO’s President of Overseas Marketing, Sales, and Service, Billy Zhang, told Pandaily that Indonesia serves as a crucial hub for OPPO’s global expansion. “Indonesia is the fastest-growing market for OPPO’s overseas development,” he noted. “In this market, we’ve built a comprehensive ecosystem of sales, marketing, and production capabilities. Our factories in Indonesia are equipped with OPPO’s most advanced manufacturing technology, empowering this region. Automation levels are already high and are likely to increase further.”

Zhang emphasized that OPPO’s overarching goal is to improve efficiency. “We aim to deliver new technologies and products to local consumers as quickly as possible. Localized manufacturing, marketing, and cultural integration are all critical components of this effort,” he added.
