Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun Responds to Fatal SU7 Highway Accident in Anhui
On April 1st, Xiaomi's founder, Chairman and CEO Lei Jun issued a statement addressing the tragic highway accident involving a Xiaomi SU7 vehicle in Anhui province.
In his statement, Lei expressed deep sorrow over the incident that occurred on the evening of March 29th, which resulted in the deaths of three young women. "This news brings unbearable pain to their families, friends, and all of us," Lei stated.
Xiaomi immediately formed a special task force that arrived at the scene on March 30th. The company provided vehicle data to the police on March 31st to assist with the investigation.
While noting that the investigation is still ongoing and the company has not had access to the accident vehicle, Lei pledged full transparency and cooperation. "Xiaomi will not evade responsibility. We will continue to cooperate with police investigations, follow up on developments, and make every effort to address concerns from the families and society," he affirmed.
Lei concluded by acknowledging public feedback and criticism, stating that the company has heard and noted all comments, and will respond through concrete actions.
