Photos Leak of Huawei’s New Foldable Smartphone

On August 29, Chinese digital blogger with Weibo username “Technology Meow” discovered that there is a new smartphone code-named “BAL-AL80,” considered to be a derivative product of the Huawei P50 Pocket vertically foldable smartphone and which has passed certification by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). According to pictures released on the official website, the new smartphone adopts the design of plain leather and glass, and it is expected to be released at the Mate 50 series product launch conference on September 6.

In addition, the blogger found a new Huawei smartphone model code-named “CHA-AL80” on the official website, which may belong to the firm’s Enjoy smartphone series. It has a 3900mAh battery, with a notch in the top center of the display and three cameras in the rear.

As for the new Huawei P50 pocket smartphone, previously leaked information suggests that it will be equipped with a Snapdragon 778G 4G chipset. This can be regarded as a low-level version of the Huawei P50 Pocket.

Pictures of the model on the MIIT website show that there is only one ring in the lens area on the back of the phone, with three built-in cameras. For reference, the Huawei P50 Pocket smartphone has two rings, and the lower ring can be used as a small display, enhancing interest in the smartphone.

However, unlike the P50 Pocket, this smartphone adopts the design of glass and plain leather. If the glass on the back of the smartphone is just ordinary glass, then the positioning of the machine may be lower or the same as P50 Pocket, and the price may be lower. Otherwise, if this glass can be used as an auxiliary display or has any other functions, then the positioning of this model is undoubtedly higher.

The Huawei P50 Pocket is a foldable smartphone, which was released in December last year. It adopts a double-ring design, with lens modules and a circular external screen stacked up and down. It adopts a 6.9-inch flexible screen, 21:9 screen ratio, 2790×1188 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and P3 color management. Equipped with a new generation of hinges, the flatness of the screen is improved by 28%.

In terms of its core configuration, the Huawei P50 Pocket is equipped with a Snapdragon 888 4G processor and built-in 4000mAh battery, supporting Huawei’s super-fast charging with a maximum of 10V/4A.
