Pictures Unveiled of AITO M5e Pure EV

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released its latest vehicle declaration list for new automotive products. The M5e, AITO’s first pure electric vehicle model, is unveiled. This new car will continue to be equipped with Huawei’s HarmonyOS intelligent cockpits. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s Consumer BG and CEO of the Intelligent Automotive Solution BU, previously revealed that the new car will be launched as early as September this year and will be delivered in October.

The new car’s appearance follows the overall shape of the current M5 extended-range model. However, as a pure electric vehicle, the new car discontinues the front face and car grille, as well as adopts a closed design. The wide vents under the front face and two side deflectors, however, have been retained.

The length, width, and height of the new car are 4,785mm, 1,930mm, and 1,620mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2,880mm. The rear of AITO M5E is basically a continuation of the current design. The new model offers two wheel hubs to choose from, with sizes of 255/45 R20 and 255/50 R19 respectively.

The AITO M5E will provide two versions: rear-wheel drive single motor and four-wheel drive twin-motor. The former has a maximum power of 200kW, while the maximum power of the front/rear motors of the twin-motor version are 165kW and 200kW respectively. The new model will be equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries.

In addition to this model, Richard Yu also revealed that AITO’s next large SUV, the M7, will also be released this year. This model be a six-seater, to be released between June 20 and 29 and delivered by the end of July.
