Pinduoduo Partners with Widely Watched TV Station to offer Double 11 Super Night Gala

Pinduoduo, the second-largest e-commerce platform in China, announced that it will cooperate with a provincial satellite TV station to host the upcoming Double 11 Super Night Gala.

Hunan TV, a widely-watched TV station famous for its entertainment shows, will co-host the gala with Pinduoduo on the evening of Nov. 10.

The theme of the gala is “Boosting Consumer Confidence.” During the gala, coupons worth 1 billion yuan will be given out to consumers through online and offline interactions, as well as other types of interactive activities.

What’s more, numerous celebrities will join the gala to provide consumers with brilliant performances and shopping coupons.

Chen Qiu, vice president of Pinduoduo, said the Double 11 Super Night Gala is an important part of Pinduoduo’s Double 11 promotion and represents the platform’s attitude towards this consumer-oriented event.

“During the Double 11 Shopping Festival, all the discounts offered by Pinduoduo will be presented in the simplest way,” Chen said. “What they see is the best price.”

During this year’s Double 11, Pinduoduo will continue to cooperate with major brands to bring the most popular and most in demand products to its nearly 700 million consumers on the platform.

In the meantime, the platform will continue to promote “10 Billion Subsidy Program” in all major categories. Since the beginning of this year, popular products such as the iPhone, Estee Lauder skincare products, Dyson hair dryers, among others, have regularly been among the program’s top-selling rankings.

Established in 2015, Pinduoduo’s business is anchored by the twin pillars of offering consumers value-for-money merchandise and a fun, interactive shopping experience. The platform aims to offer a virtual bazaar where buyers browse and explore a full spectrum of products while interacting with one another, according to Pinduoduo.
