Prices of Long Range Version of Tesla Model S and Model X Raised by $4,692
On October 27th, Tesla’s official website in China showed that the prices of the Model S Long Range version and the Model X Long Range version were both raised by 30,000 yuan ($4,692). Their latest prices are 889,990 yuan and 939,990 yuan, with an expected delivery date of the first quarter of 2022. The prices of the Model S Plaid and the Model X Plaid have not changed.
The price increase happened not only in China. Tesla’s official website in the US shows that the starting prices of the Model S Long Range version and the Model X Long Range version have also been raised by $5,000.
Earlier, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said through social media channels that the supply chain of the automobile industry was under pressure, especially the raw materials were in “super crazy shortages”, and so the prices of products had to be raised.
Since it was officially launched on Tesla China’s official website on January 28th this year, the Model S Long Range version has risen 90,000 yuan from 799,990 yuan when it went for sale. Furthermore, the price of the Model S Plaid also increased by 60,000 yuan in June this year.

As early as the first half of this year, the price of Tesla’s Model 3 standard battery life upgrade version also increased by 1000 yuan in China. At the same time, the starting price of Tesla’s Model 3 standard battery life upgrade version and the Model 3 Long Range on Tesla’s official website increased by $500. The price of the Tesla Model Y Long Range has also been raised by $500.
