PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming Advance to Upper Bracket of Dota 2 International Main Event
The ongoing International 2019 in Shanghai is heating up as the top eight teams advance to the upper bracket of the main event, while the first teams to be eliminated are revealed.
The current standings of the group stages see Chinese teams PSG.LGD sitting comfortably in first place of Group A with an outstanding score of 13 to 2, and Vici Gaming in second place of Group B with a score of 11 to 5. With that, PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming have secured their spot in the Upper Bracket of the playoffs along with other favorites including Team Secret and champions of The International 2018, OG.

Of the 18 teams battling things out in the group stages, European team Chaos Esports Club is the first to be knocked out of the tournament with Ninjas In Pajamas following shortly after.
The last series of the day saw PSG.LGD take on Team Secret in a best of 2 series. PSG.LGD outplayed Team Secret in both games to win the series 2-0, letting down the audience, who expected a closely matched series.
With that win, PSG.LGD is guaranteed a top seed in Group A with a 13 wins and 3 losses in the group stage. They will choose between the 3rd and 4th place teams of Group B, either Evil Geniuses or Virtus Pro, to be their opponents in the first round of the playoffs. Vici, on the other hand, will be playing either TNC Predator or Newbee from the 3rd and 4th place teams from Group A depending on OG’s choice of opponents.
PSG.LGD’s carry player, Lu “Somnus” Yao, achieved the feat of securing 1,000 kills at The International, right after Evil Genius’ Syed “SumaiL” Hassan.
Starting Monday, the team will engage in fiercer battles to move closer to the Aegis of Champions. All Upper Bracket games are Best of 3.
