Red Magic to Release New Smartphone in July
Chinese gaming phone brand Red Magic announced on Thursday that it will release a new smartphone in July. Judging from previous revelations, it is expected to be the Red Magic 7S Pro.
The Red Magic 7S Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 chip, which is officially said to reduce CPU power consumption by about 30% compared to the Snapdragon 8. Its GPU power consumption is reportedly decreased by up to 30%, with the overall power consumption of the platform dropping by about 15% compared to the Snapdragon 8.
The Red Magic 7S Pro also uses Nubia’s Red Core No.1 gaming chip. The chip supports 135W fast charging, and the smartphone has a super-large battery. In addition, Chinese tech industry blogger with Weibo nickname “Digital Chat Station” revealed that Red Magic would debut a millimeter wave wireless screen projection gaming monitor.
Red Magic released the Red Magic 7 series in February this year. This device is equipped with a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 165Hz, and the Pro version is also the first game mobile phone to try off-screen camera technology. In terms of performance, the Red Magic 7 Series is equipped with a Snapdragon 8, and the 7 Pro has an additional independent game chip – the Red Core No.1.

In terms of battery life, the Red Magic 7 has a built-in 4500mAh dual battery and supports 120W fast charging. It is said that the smartphone can be fully charged in 17 minutes. Meanwhile, the Red Magic 7 Pro supports 135W fast charging, and its 5000mAh battery can be fully charged within 15 minutes. Yu Hang, the senior vice president of Nubia, said that Red Magic would not only launch mobile phones, but also would develop into a professional game equipment brand.
