Road Test Photos Leaked of Zeekr 009 MPV Equipped With CATL’s Kirin Battery

On September 13, the road test photos of Zeekr 009 were exposed. The new car is positioned as a pure electric MPV which has attracted much attention because it is the first model to carry the Kirin Battery manufactured by CATL. It is expected to be released within this year and is said to have a battery life of over 700km. At present, the white version of the new vehicle is shown on the list of model catalogs released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

The leaked photos show that the black version of the Zeekr 009 has no camouflage, and the shape of the vehicle is straight and slender with the “light” elements used innovatively. With a large grille making up the front face of the vehicle, 154 LED lights are scattered throughout illuminating the grille’s design. With N-shaped daytime running lights, the full-width taillight is more recognizable.

The length, width, height of the new vehicle is 5209*2024*1856 mm, with a wheelbase of 3205 mm. The ground clearance is only 122 mm when the air suspension is lowered to the lowest level, which matches the positioning of a MPV model, and the tyre size is 265/45 R20.

According to previously released information, the new vehicle will provide a wealth of options, including highlighted front grille, decorative strips beside the far and near beams, front grille with the same color of the car body, different rear tail markings, and highlighted wheel hub styles.

Other leaked photos of the Zeekr 009 show an interior that is basically the same as that of the Zeekr 001. The vehicle is equipped with an LCD dashboard and a central control display with a three-spoke steering wheel and yacht-style shift knob.

In addition, it is worth noting that on September 13, Weirui Energy, a subsidiary of Geely, officially released its 600kW super fast charging technology, which increased the battery life by 300km after charging for 5 minutes. The liquid cooling cycle 360kW ultra-high power and super fast charging technology of Weirui Energy provides energy supplement service for Zeekr 001. It is expected that the Zeekr 009 will also adopt the second generation product of Weirui Energy-600kW super fast charging technology.

There are many models in the Chinese electric MPV market, such as the Voyah Dreamer, Denza D9, MAXUS MIFA 9, and Roewe iMAX8 EV. Competition is fierce, and the Zeekr 009 needs to have a unique selling point. It seems that Kirin battery of CATL is one of the features.
