Shenzhen will Pilot Smart Bike Dock Lock for Shared Bikes
The reporter learns from Shenzhen Road Management Center that Shenzhen plans pilot smart dock lock of shared bikes. When residents return bikes in demonstration region, lock pile could read label and automatically lock bikes.
The demonstration site, located in Yuehai Sub-district, Nanshan District in Shenzhen, will set up 30 parking areas, 2000 lock piles and 5 electronic fence areas, which are currently under construction.
When residents return bikes in demonstration region, there is no need to lock the vehicle. They just push the front wheel between lock piles and the lock pile will automatically lock bikes after reading label. When parking bikes, the parking lock platform also sends a parking information to the shared bike system. The system will automatically end the trip after accepting information.
If residents want to use a bike, they should open a shared bicycle APP, and scan the QR code on the bike or pile.
If there is no vacancy in demonstration area, citizens can turn on mobile blue tooth and park the bike on the temporary parking areas (such as places with white lines and double decker) and apply for parking on ending travel page in shared cycling APP. During the pilot period, other places will be allowed to park shared bicycles in addition to the designated pilot parking areas.
