Smartwatch Version of WeChat to Be Applied on Vivo WATCH 2

Chinese smartphone maker vivo announced on July 12 that it will unlock a WeChat smartwatch version at its iQOO 10 series launch event on July 19.

According to promotional material, the vivo WATCH 2 will be made available for a WeChat smartwatch edition. This device will no longer only passively receive WeChat messages, but can allow users to log into their accounts and reply to messages.

At present, it is not clear how the vivo WATCH 2 will support replying to messages in WeChat, but judging from similar products already on the market, this function will likely be realized by speech recognition.

The vivo WATCH 2 was released in December last year, supporting independent communication, as well as online audio from NetEase Cloud Music and Ximalaya. Users can check their ride-hailing status, use Baidu Maps to navigate, enjoy virtual transportation cards, and access online payment.

Vivo WATCH 2 has dozens of built-in exercise modes that can monitor users’ health. The watch screen is a 1.43-inch AOD OLED panel with a resolution of 466*466 and 326 PPI. The device can be fully charged in less than two hours.
