Source Code Capital Announces Chang Kaisi As Partner: Previously Participated in ByteDance Investment

Chinese investment institution Source Code Capital announced on Wednesday that Chang Kaisi was promoted to partner. Chang joined the company in 2016 and was also one of the earliest growth investors of Source Code Capital, focusing on investment in new consumption fields and new brands.

Chang Kaisi graduated from the Department of Automation at Tsinghua University and obtained his Ph.D. from Cambridge University. After being with Source Code Capital for more than five years, Chang led the investment in companies such as edianyun, Narwal, usmile, Bruco, Chayan Yuese, and Ziroom, while also participating in the investment of companies such as ByteDance, Beike Zhaofang, Yijiupi, Xinchao Media and Wang Baobab.

According to its official website, Beijing Source Code Capital Co., Ltd. was established in March 2014 by Cao Yi, former investor at Sequoia China. At present, the scale of Source Code Capital’s total assets under management (AUM) is around 35 billion yuan ($5.48 billion), which is mainly derived from state-level guiding funds, local science and technology funds, financial institutions (including insurance and banks), market-oriented parent funds, and industrial investors. 

Not long ago, on October 11, Source Code Capital announced the completion of its fifth round of fund raising, with a total scale exceeding 7 billion yuan.
