Space Pioneer Releases Apology Letter After Rocket Crash
On the afternoon of June 30th, Space Pioneer conducted a test on the first-stage propulsion system of a commercial launch vehicle at the Gongyi Comprehensive Test Center. Due to a test malfunction, parts of the rocket scattered within the safety control area, causing a fire in the local area. The safety control area is deep in the mountains and far from residential areas. The fire has been completely extinguished and upon investigation, there were no casualties.

On the afternoon of July 2nd, Space Pioneer officially posted an apology letter on Weibo, apologizing to the general public. The full text of the apology letter is as follows:
Dear residents of Gongyi City, all colleagues and the general public:
Regarding the incident on June 30th where our TL-3 carrier rocket’s first stage booster fell and caught fire due to a test malfunction, we extend our most sincere apologies to the vast social public who have supported and followed us. We have let everyone down.
The test site was far away from the urban area of Gongyi. Before the test started, our company had already cooperated with the local government to improve security measures and organize the evacuation of surrounding personnel in advance. The fallen arrow body scattered within the safety control zone deep in the mountains did not cause casualties, but it still caused unnecessary inconvenience and negative impact on the lives of residents around the test site. We feel deeply sorry for this and hereby express our sincere apologies to the people of Gongyi.
On the day of testing, our company activated an emergency response mechanism in advance and is currently working with local government to conduct surveys, assessments, and compensation for damaged houses nearby. Our company will ensure that every resident who suffers property losses due to test failures receives timely, efficient, and fair compensation.
Since its establishment, Space Pioneer has been committed to the innovation and breakthrough of aerospace technology. We deeply understand that behind every challenge of climbing new heights lies enormous risks and uncertainties. We will learn from this failure, implement “safety first” in our future production work, prioritize the safety of people’s lives and property as the highest starting point, comprehensively strengthen all safety management measures, and ensure that subsequent test work is safe and flawless. We welcome residents of Gongyi City and people from all walks of life to supervise our implementation of security measures and provide valuable feedback!
Currently, China’s commercial aerospace technology industry is developing rapidly. The progress made by our company cannot be achieved without the unity, efforts, and struggles of the entire industry, nation, and society. The setbacks encountered by our company this time will provide valuable experience for the advancement of China’s commercial aerospace industry. We call on our colleagues and allies to unite as one, work together hand in hand, and contribute actively to the progress of China’s commercial aerospace industry.
Finally, once again, I express my most sincere apologies to all those who have been affected by the failed experiment! Looking forward to continuing to receive everyone’s support, understanding, and attention in the future!
