Specs Emerge for OPPO’s New Smartphone, Rumored to Be Reno8
Smartphone brand OPPO has developed a new 5G model with code name PGAM10 that has passed the “3Cs,” a mandatory product certification system in China. Tipsters have suggested this model is the OPPO Reno8.
According to previously leaked information, the new smartphone will be equipped with Qualcomm’s new generation Snapdragon 7 processor with LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 flash memory. It will adopt a 6.55-inch 2400*1080 resolution OLED notch display, and will support a 120Hz refresh rate. The new model is expected to have a rear 50MP IMX766 main camera, a built-in 4500mAh battery, 80W wired fast charging and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The OPPO Reno6 was released on May 27, 2021, and the Reno7 was released on November 25, 2021. According to this pattern, it is almost time for OPPO to release the next model within its Reno series.
The new-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 platform adopts a 4nm process, and the chipset includes four Cortex-A710 clocked at 2.36 GHz and four Cortex-A510 clocked at 1.8 GHz. It is supplemented by an Adreno 662 GPU. The Snapdragon 7 Gen1 is positioned higher than the Snapdragon 778G, and is the strongest 7-series processor.
At present, it is not clear when the Snapdragon 7 will be released. Rumors say it will appear together with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus flagship processor in May at the earliest.
