Spy shots reveal BYD’s Denza Z convertible sports car with a four-seat layout, featuring China’s first fully self-developed steer-by-wire system and advanced smart chassis tech.
November 8 — IT Home reported that automotive blogger @SugarDesign has leaked a new set of spy photos showing the BYD Denza Z convertible, revealing the car with its top down. The blogger also confirmed that the upcoming model features a four-seat configuration.

Previously, the hardtop version of the Denza Z was spotted testing near the Nürburgring. The car’s striking front design includes dual “L” and “V”-shaped LED light bars, a sculpted hood dominated by three large air intakes, and aerodynamic vents on both sides. The lower lip features extended splitters, while the wide fenders house three cooling vents, oversized brake discs, and large calipers, emphasizing its performance focus.

The Denza Z made its global debut in April as the brand’s first concept sports car. BYD said the model features China’s first fully self-developed steer-by-wire system, capable of automatically correcting driver errors and maintaining control in extreme conditions. It also offers adaptive steering ratios and intelligent learning of driving habits.
In addition, the car is equipped with China’s first mass-producible foldable steering wheel, eliminating the need for a mechanical column and expanding the driver’s cabin space by 14% at the touch of a button. It also incorporates the industry’s first intelligent magnetorheological suspension system for new energy vehicles (“Yun Nian-M”), built on BYD’s fully in-house developed wire-control chassis.
