Switch Version of miHoYo’s Genshin Impact “Still Under Development”
On Thursday, GoNintendo reported that miHoYo, the developer of internationally popular action role-playing game “Genshin Impact,” clarified that the Nintendo Switch version is still under development.
As early as January 2020, it was reported that Genshin Impact was developing a Switch version, yet it was unclear when the launch would be. However, after two years, there is still no hint of “Genshin Impact” on Switch. Reports have suggested its development was stopped. In April this year, some netizens found that the words “reserve corresponding Nintendo Switch” in the official YouTube film introduction were removed from the description.
Despite the fact that official instructions for supporting the Switch were added later, the sudden disappearance and restoration caused suspicion among players.
miHoYo replied that the Switch version of the game was still under development. Further news will be released to the public when progress is made.

Some players speculated that the delay may be due to performance issues. Genshin Impact has become a test game for flagship smartphones, and its performance requirements are high. Even the PS5 suffers from significant frame drops in some scenes. Switch, on the other hand, is still struggling to support third-party 3A games, with significant sacrifices in graphics and frame rate. It will likely be a major challenge to play “Genshin Impact” on Switch.
Switch is a video game console from Japan’s Nintendo, which was first released on March 3, 2017. It has a detachable controller and mainframe, and the game carrier uses a dedicated cassette.
