System on Chip Company Actions Semiconductor Goes Public on Shanghai Stock Exchange
On Monday, Actions Semiconductor began trading on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The issue price of the new shares was 42.98 yuan ($6.73) per share while the opening price of the first day of trading was 85.01 yuan/share. The company is a well-known low-power System on Chip (SoC) designer in China, focusing on providing professional integrated chips for smart Internet of Things devices.
According to the announcement, in this IPO, Actions Semiconductor plans to raise 351 million yuan ($55 million), which will be used to invest in upgrading intelligent Bluetooth audio chips, R&D of ultra-low power MCU for wearable and IoT devices, and construction of an R&D center.
The company’s main products are a SoC chip series applied to Bluetooth audio devices, portable audio and video devices and smart voice interactive products. The devices can be found in Bluetooth speakers, headsets, voice remote controllers, transceivers, and in the fields of education, smart office suites and smart home appliances.
In terms of sales, the top five customers of Actions Semiconductor include solution providers and module component manufacturers, with names as diverse as Huawei, Sony, Anke High-tech, Logitech, OPPO, Xiaomi, Transsion, Philips and Lenovo. The other notable customer is RichPower Electronic Devices, a well-known distributor of electronic components in the industry.

Actions Semiconductor revealed that on the basis of relatively stable sales of portable audio and video SoC chips, the company has successively launched a number of Bluetooth audio and intelligent voice interactive SoC chips and other products. The company’s products have proven popular in the market and have allowed the company to continue to grow. In 2020, the sales volume of Bluetooth audio SoC chips of Actions Semiconductor was 64.8022 million, an increase of 46.60% compared with 2019.
