The Huawei Cloud Spark Founders Summit was held on Tuesday in Singapore and Hong Kong. At the meeting, Huawei announced intentions to invest $100 million in its Asia-Pacific Spark Program throughout the next three years to help create a sustainable start-up ecosystem in the region.

Apart from Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand, Huawei will now also boost the construction of four startup ecosystems in Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam, aiming to recruit 1,000 startups and build 100 scale-ups.

At the meeting, Huawei announced the launch of three subsidiary Asia-Pacific Spark Programs; namely, the Spark Developer Program, aiming to construct the Huawei Cloud Asia-Pacific developer ecosystem; the Spark Pitstop Program, aiming to help start-ups adopt Huawei Cloud to promote rapid product development; and the Spark Innovation Program, aiming to help enterprises innovate.

The telecommunications giant also released the Huawei Cloud Partner Innovation Program to provide further support for global start-ups. \"Huawei Cloud and Huawei Terminal Cloud will respectively provide $20 million in resource support for start-ups. In 2021, Huawei plans to support 200 startups in the HMS ecosystem, share high-quality channel resources with global developers, cover 1 billion Huawei end users, build an HMS developer innovation center and train 100,000 HMS cloud native developers,\" Zhang Ping'an, CEO of Huawei Cloud BU, said.
