Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the completion and commissioning ceremony for the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS-3) on July 31 at the Great Hall of the People in China’s capital Beijing, according to Xinhua News.

At the ceremony, Xi announced the official commissioning of the newly completed BDS-3 system, Xinhua News reported.

CNR reported that China launched the last satellite of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, which is the 30th BDS-3 satellite and the 55th of the BeiDou satellite family on June 23.

So far, all 30 BeiDou-3 global networking satellites are in place, marking the completion of the deployment of China's Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system, half a year earlier than originally planned, CNR reported.

The satellite has now completed in-orbit testing and network access evaluation. It will soon enter the network, using the ranging code number 61 to provide positioning and navigation timing services, CNR reported, citing news from the office in charge of the BeiDou system.
