According to latest reports, in order to cut costs and reduce reliance on parts supplied by South Korea's Samsung Electronics, Apple commissioned China's top display manufacturer BOE Technology Group to test the latest cutting-edge iPhone screens.
Bloomberg reported that Apple was seeking to cooperate with BOE, China's largest screen maker, to develop OLED screens in February. At the time, there was no significant OLED manufacturing in BOE, but a source in South Korea said the yield of OLED panels in BOE may be changing.
The era of foldable and bendable screens is on its way. China’s first flexible screen production line began in Chengdu on October 26, breaking the monopoly of foreign companies. The line is expected to accelerate the evolution of Chinese mobile electronics into the new era of flexible screens.
