Exotic antiques, animated furniture, a bed designed in a suitcase, you may find yourself in a life-sized comic book in Suning’s pop-up exhibition in Nanjing. Chinese leading retailer Suning partnered with interdisciplinary artist Emily Forgot and the firm’s high-end retail service platform Sup’s to produce the first PLAY HOME pop-up exhibition on Dec. 31.

The month-long pop-up exhibition marks the beginning of Suning’s PLAY HOME Art Project. The event aims to provide young people with a new immersive experience exploring furniture with art. With 2021 right around the corner, Sup’s provides visitors with innovative products all over the world and embarks on a journey to find the true meaning of home globally. In Sup’s philosophy, a beautiful day must start in your unique personal space, your home.

This is also Emily’s first exhibition in Asia. The London-based artist is excited to share her design with Chinese audiences this year. “2020 has been a really difficult year, so I really hope that coming and visiting Sup’s home will bring you a lot of joy and happiness and of course inspiration,” said Emily in a greeting video posted on Twitter.
