Honda recently announced that it will lay off about 900 contract workers at its Chinese joint venture, GAC Honda Automobile Co., due to a shift towards the electric vehicle market.
At a press conference held on Wednesday, Honda China stated that it planned to introduce 10 Honda-brand EV models in the next five years, and that all new models launched in China after 2030 will be electric.
