Apple released its newest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report, summarizing what the company has done in terms of products, education, environment, staff, vendors and community.

“Apple has been in China for 30 years. We help the economy, create social impact, protect the environment, serve our customers, invest in economic growth, lead innovation and fulfill our corporate social responsibility in various ways,” Apple wrote in its report.

By the end of 2018, Apple opened 51 retail stores in Greater China. It also started nine companies and 71 branches and provided over five million jobs for vendors and developers, according to the report. “The entire Apple China ecosystem, including vendors, developers and our staff, is shouldering social responsibility together,” said Ge Yue, manager director of Apple Greater China.

Apple also established research and development (R&D) centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Shenzhen. In addition, Tsinghua University cooperated with Apple in the autumn of 2018 to build a smart mobile technology R&D center.

“Corporations should do whatever they can to serve the public, empower everyone and unite them together,” said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO.
