Chinese smartphone maker Vivo's sub-brand iQOO on Tuesday released the newest editions of its iQOO 8 series of smartphones, which are considered to be the flagship phones for the future e-sports.

The iQOO 8 series feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus processor, LPDDR5 storage and UFS 3.1 flash memory.

\n\n\n\n

For better game performance, these new models adopt an independent display chips, allowing for faster game performance and lower power consumption, according to the company's official website.

\n\n\n\n

The screen for the iQOO 8 Pro features a Samsung screen with 2K resolution and produces up to a billion colours, which allows the device to switch between 1 Hz and 120Hz refresh rates. And, since the screen material is made up of the latest E5 material, the screen brightness has also been improved while power consumption has been reduced by about 25%.

Regarding image quality, the rear camera of the iQOO 8 boasts a three-lens set up, using a 50MP main lens, a 48MP ultrawide lens and a 16MP telephoto portrait lens. The Pro version of the phone line up adopts a IMX766V sensor, which enhances the photosensitivity by 56.25% compared to the previous model.

The iQOO 8 supports 120W fast-charging and 50W wireless charging, which means that the phone should be fully charged within 18 minutes when using the120W charger.

Moreover, the iQOO 8 series uses an ultrasonic 3D screen fingerprint which gives it a larger fingerprint identification area than most other smartphones. The phone has increased the unlocking speed by about 38.7% all while supporting the quick unlocking entry of up to four Apps.

The iQOO 8 Pro offers two color schemes, a track version and a Legendary Edition, while the regular iQOO 8 is presented with three color options, black, white and the Legendary Edition .

The new line up has the iQOO 8 Pro priced between 4,999 yuan and 5,999 yuan and the iQOO 8 between 3799 yuan and 4199 yuan.
