The Report on World Internet Development 2017 was released in Wuzhen, host city of the 4th World Internet Conference. The report sets up an indexing system for world Internet development, and scores the US, China and South Korea as the world’s Top 3.
The 4th World Internet Conference was held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province from December 3 to 5. At the sub-forum, themed Big Internet Era: Innovation, Intelligence and Revolution, CEO of Huawei Technologies Consumer Business Group Richard Yu said information will see an exponential increase, and the gateway to global connectivity lies in interaction, Internet of Things and 5G.
Tencent Chairman and CEO Pony Ma spoke about the digital economy at the Fourth World Internet Conference Wuzhen Forum. Ma said innovation is key to Tencent’s goal of becoming an Internet-based technology and culture company.
“The growth rate of Internet users in China exceeded more than 50 percent a decade ago, but today it’s down to 6 percent,” Robin Li, chairman and CEO of Baidu, said at the Wuzhen Summit. Over the past four years, China’s population of Internet users has grown at a slower pace than its GDP.
Humans understood less than 10 percent of their own brains, and it will be a long time before machines can surpass man. That was Alibaba Group Chairman Jack Ma’s message at the opening of the 4th World Internet Conference on December 3.
The fourth World Internet Conference will be held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province from December 3 to 5, the State Council Information Office said. The session’s theme is “Develop Digital Economy and Promote Opening and Sharing – Jointly Build a Community of Shared Future in Cyberspace.”
