Tencent Acquires Game Developer 1C Entertainment
1C Entertainment, developer of the “King’s Bounty” game series, announced Saturday that it will be acquired by Chinese tech giant Tencent, with a final deal expected to be reached in late November of this year.
In addition, 1C Entertainment and its subsidiaries will be rebranded within six months after the completion of the acquisition, and the new name will be announced later.
1C Entertainment is a game company headquartered in Warsaw, Poland. It has developed more than 100 games, including “King’s Bounty,” “Men of War” and “Ancestor Legacy.”
Recently, Tencent also announced its complete acquisition of Inflexion Games, a studio based in Canada. Inflexion Games won much attention at the TGA Awards Ceremony in 2021, where it released its first game, Nightingale, which is expected to be tested in 2022.
