“Industrial Internet is a general term that includes the transformation and upgrade in services, agriculture and manufacturing industry. Many automobile companies can become an integrated service provider, rather than a simple manufacturer, with the help of the Internet,” Ma said on Mar. 31.
Ma believes that the two technologies will lower the threshold for entities to transform and upgrade, which will also enable the Industrial Internet to develop faster. According to Ma, Tencent has always focused on developing connections. Its social platform WeChat became the first product to have billions of users.
“We want to build connections between people and objects, between people and services. It will become foundation for the well-connected Industrial Internet,” Ma said.
With the help of Industrial Internet, industries will transform into new modules, where bricks and mortars can adjust to customers’ needs using efficient customer to business feedback.
However, as the traditional industries are taking advantages of the Internet, Ma thinks cybersecurity is fundamental. “Tencent now has seven security labs, and we take security as our life,” Ma said.
