Tencent Prepares for Global Release of Honor of Kings
Tencent‘s overseas distribution brand, Level Infinite, announced on Tuesday that it will launch the international version of TiMi Studio Group’s MOBA game Honor of Kings before the end of this year. Starting from July, several rounds of alpha testing will gradually be conducted.
Subsequently, it announced that the 2022 Honor of Kings World Champion Cup (KCC) will start at the end of the year, with 16 international teams competing, and the prize money will be as high as $10 million.
Previously, Tencent subsidiary TiMi Studio Group announced a number of IP derivatives, including “Honor of Kings: World,” an open-world action-RPG game, saying that these new games would simultaneously undergo global releases. In order to ensure the implementation of its global distribution strategy, TiMi Studio Group needs to strengthen overseas users’ awareness of Honor of Kings – launching overseas games is the simplest and most feasible way.
